You will see God!

“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen” (Revelation 1:7).
During our time on the mission field in Samoa we had traveled to the main island of Upolu for the birth of our third child. While we were there I became impatient for her arrival and wanted to return to our home in Savaii to check on things there. I figured that I could get there and back before my wife went into labor and delivery.
So I left my wife and children with our hosts there and went home. As you can guess, the very next morning my wife went into labor and delivered our daughter and I missed being there for that important event. My thinking was, “The baby hasn’t come yet; surely I’ll not miss it.” But I was wrong!
Most people have the same thinking when it comes to the Second Coming of Jesus. He promised that He would come again (John 14:3) and numerous passages confirm that (Acts 1:11; Zechariah 14:4; Revelation 1:7). But many scoff at the notion and say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation” (II Peter 3:4). And so they continue on in their activities, thinking that they can get away with anything and everything.
But one day, when least expected, Jesus will come. Then “every eye will see him” and those who have rejected him will “mourn because of Him” because it will be too late for repentance and faith.
My friend, are you putting off accepting Jesus as your Savior because you think that you have plenty of time? Or are you simply saying, “God isn’t going to punish me. I don’t see any proof that He exists and I don’t believe what the Bible says”? One day He will come – and then it will be too late. Don’t put it off! Admit your sin! Turn to Jesus in faith and ask Him to save you! He promises to do it! (Romans 3:23; 6:23; 10:13)
